Protect Your Student From Blue Light

As the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of our students to spend significantly more time on computers, parents are becoming more familiar with blue light protecting eyewear. The proper filtering lenses or coating can eliminate the harmful rays transmitted by computer, tablet, and smart phone screens by reflecting the rays rather than allowing them to pass through the lenses into a person’s eyes. We are currently recommending these filters for many students due to the fatigue, strain, and near work neglect they may experience during prolonged screen time. Also, consider our 20-20-20 rule for preventing eye fatigue. That is, every 20 minutes take a 20 second break, and look 20 feet or further away. This helps to reset your visual system and keep your eyes from drying out.
