Koetting Eye Center Dry Eye Syndrome Study

Dry eye syndrome is a multifaceted condition resulting in inflammation of the eyes ocular surface. The root cause of dry eye syndrome is not fully understood and may vary from person to person. With the introduction of digital devices, and the prolonged use of computers today, more and more people are suffering from the effects of dry eyes. Symptoms of dry eye include burning, stinging, watering, blurred vision, tired eyes. As those who suffer from dry eye syndrome can attest, treatment for the condition can be frustrating. There is no cure, but there are many over the counter and prescription therapy options we employ. Because the root cause varies amongst those affected, some treatments work better than others depending on the person.

We are excited to be a study site for an upcoming pharmaceutical trial. This study involves a new eye drop that has shown very promising results in reducing the effects of dry eye syndrome. We are looking for any individuals who are suffering from dry eyes and willing to partake in a 14 week study involving five to six study visits. Participants will receive the medication at no cost and, additionally, be compensated for their time.  If you are interested in enrolling in our study please reach out to our office at (314)863-0000 and ask to be connected to the study coordinator. Limited spots are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
