We will be looking forward to many new exciting things in 2013 to help make your eye care experience in our office better. As many of you already know, we are now able to communicate with you by email or text for things such as appointment reminders, cionfirmations and to let you know if ordered glasses or contact lenses have arrived. If you would like to take advantage of this feature please call our office at 314-863-0000 and make sure we have your email address and/or cell phone number and we can get you opted into this service.

Congratulations to Dr. Joe Castellano:  We are pleased to announce that our newest doctor, Joe Castellano, was married to his new bride Erin this past November. The couple spent a relaxing honeymoon in Jamaica and Dr. Castellano is now back working hard for you in the practice. Our sincere congratulations and best wishes to Joe and Erin for a long and happy life together!

Electronic Health Records:  We are happy to announce that are conversion to electronic health records is now complete and we want to thank everyone for your patience as we have made this transition. It has not always been smooth, and though we continue to experience some growing pains, this will ultimately allow us to provide you much more thorough and efficient eye care as we move forward. Remember also, you may access and print patient demographic forms and health history forms from our web site which may expedite your visit to our office. Thanks again for your patience over the past year.

A Look into the Future of Contact Lenses:  Contact lenses for vision correction have now been around for many decades. It's obvious to say there have been vast advancements and improvements over the years. But, how about contact lenses that do more than simply correct vision? It will not be too long until you may see contact lenses that are able to deliver medicine to the eye in a regulated fashion, eliminating the need to use eye drops on a regular basis. Also, how about a contact lens that can monitor eye pressure for patients with glaucoma or even monitor blood sugar levels for diabetics? Finally, you may soon see electronic contact lenses that can provide virtual images in one's peripheral vision and be voice activated. It sounds like science fiction but it may be closer than you think.
